Vanessa is a career diplomat passionate about promoting oceans diplomacy, indigenous community engagement, and sustainable development in Solomon Islands and the broader Pacific region. Since 2016, she served at the Solomon Islands’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade across various portfolios representing Solomon Islands through bilateral and multilateral engagements in Europe and the Pacific region. 

Through her experience in diplomacy, Vanessa developed a passion for multilateralism and advocating for global issues affecting the Pacific region, particularly on diplomatic approaches to protect and preserve the ocean. 

Vanessa has also held roles at the National Parliament of Solomon Islands and Transparency Solomon Islands, where she developed expertise in parliamentary law and procedures, good governance, public policy and accountability, and communications, and research. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Politics and Sociology) from The University of the South Pacific.
