Tracy is a geologist and ocean advocate passionate about the protection of natural marine and land resources. She has held a range of roles to support conservational and environmental safeguarding initiatives and combines her technical scientific expertise with experience in project management, community engagement, stakeholder collaboration, advocacy, and risk management to address environmental challenges.
Prior to taking up her Australia Award, Tracy was an Environmental Social and Safeguards Framework Coordinator for the World Wide Fund for Nature in Solomon Islands, where she was tasked with minimising environmental impacts on communities. Prior to this, Tracy raised community awareness of sustainable forest management and resource protection as a Project Officer for Live and Learn Solomon Islands.
In 2013, Tracy was awarded the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship to undertake her Bachelor of Science at The University of Canterbury. Upon her return home to the Solomon Islands, Tracy aims to help communities understand how climate change contributes to the coastal hazards, and how to mitigate them.
