Tiueti is a civil engineer passionate about driving infrastructure development, promoting sustainable engineering, and inspiring more women to take on careers in male-dominated fields in Tonga.
She spent five years as a Civil Engineer within Tonga’s Ministry of Infrastructure, where she contributed to projects improving transport infrastructure and gained expertise in material testing, road safety auditing, and environmental safeguarding. Prior to this, Tiuteti worked as a Lab Technician for McConnell Dowell, where she tested and controlled the quality of runway infrastructure at Tonga Airport.
Tiueti hopes to empower women to challenge cultural stereotypes that keep them from entering industries such as engineering, and contribute to sustainable development in the Pacific.
Tiueti was also a recipient of the prestigious New Zealand Aid Scholarship, through which she earned her Bachelor of Engineering at the Unitec Institute of Technology in New Zealand.
