Master of Laboratory Medicine, Central Queensland University

Natasha is medical laboratory scientist with five years of experience in blood transfusion services. Prior to taking up her Australia Award, Natasha was a Medical Laboratory Technologist at PNG’s largest general hospital.

Transfusion medicine is  Natasha's core interest, though her deep enthusiasm for cell protein typing and transplantation medicine has driven her to immerse herself in organ and stem cell transplantation utilising molecular genetic tools. She is currently pursuing a Master of Laboratory Medicine at Central Queensland University, specialising in transfusion and transplantation medicine, immunogenetics, and haematology.

After completing her studies and returning home,  Natasha intends to use the knowledge and skills she has gained to enhance transfusion services in PNG. She also wants to contribute to building the capacity of transplantation medicine in PNG; particularly kidney transplantation, by using immunological and molecular genetic tools to improve healthcare services nationally. Natasha holds a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science from the University of PNG.
