Bachelor of Community Development, Victoria University
Malietasi is a community development advocate dedicated to fostering sustainable growth and empowerment in Vanuatu communities. She is passionate about promoting inclusive solutions to development challenges and advocates for evidence-based decision-making, and providing local communities with the tools they need to take control of their own futures.
Over five years, Malietasi gained professional experience by supporting fair trade, tourism, health, and education sector organisations in a range of research, administration, communication and event coordination roles. During this time, Malietasi became more aware of the need to tackle the structural issues affecting disadvantaged communities, ultimately leading her to undertake a Bachelor of Community Development.
As a Vanuatu NextGen Youth Ambassador for Save the Children Australia, Malietasi also advocated for the rights of children and young people to participate in climate disaster discussions at the 2024 Australian Regional Leadership Initiative.
