Laisana is a community mental health advocate who has worked with government agencies, religious bodies, and non-government organisations to promote sexual and reproductive health, peacebuilding, mental health, and suicide prevention in Fiji and the Pacific region. Passionate about promoting youth mental health and empowerment in Fiji, Laisana is developing her leadership capacity to advocate for the need to prioritise mental health in everyday life.

Laisana has raised awareness of health issues and supported health projects as a Project Officer for the Adolescent Development Program for the Ministry of Health and Medical Services in Fiji, and a Programs Assistant for the Pacific Centre for Peacebuilding.

She also volunteers her time as a Lifeline Fiji Crisis Support Officer, Sunday School teacher, and Psychological First Aid responder; including during times of national disaster. Laisana holds a range of qualifications, including a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and History) and Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology from The University of the South Pacific.
