Master of Public Administration and Policy

Flinders University, SA

Anna is underway with a Master’s degree of Public Administration and Policy at Flinders University. She has a Bachelor of Social Sciences – majors in Social Policy and Political Science Studies - from the University of Waikato, New Zealand, thanks to being awarded a NZAID Development Scholarship.

Anna has held leadership roles in her public and private sector work in Papua New Guinea. Before her Master’s degree, she was the Acting Advisor of Gender Equity and Social Inclusion (GESI) at the Madang Provincial Administration. In this role, she launched the GESI Help Desk for the Madang Provincial Administration.

She has also worked on a World Bank-funded Women in Mining and Petroleum Extractives Industries Institutional Strengthening project and as the Social and Sustainable Development Coordinator for the XstrataCopper Group’s Frieda River Project. In 2007, Anna set up a community adult literacy learning project in Telefomin, Sandaun.

Anna is passionate about improving GESI principles in the public service at the sub-national level. She would like to encourage more women public servants to apply for administrator roles and encourage more women to apply for scholarship opportunities.
