Australia Awards Women Leading and Influencing (WLI) has appointed eight Alumni Representatives across Papua New Guinea (PNG), Fiji and Samoa.

Helping to facilitate WLI alumni engagement, networking and and in-country support available to alumni returning home to the Pacific Islands after completing their studies, the inaugural WLI Alumni Representatives for 2023 are:

In PNG:

In Fiji:

In Samoa:

Through these appointments and the introduction of a range of in-Pacific leadership activities, WLI is increasing the resources available to returning women alumnae who research shows face more barriers to leadership than their male counterparts.

PNG Reprepresentative Paliame says, “I am honoured and humbled to take [on] this role with my two sisters, Sophie Sindra Hepota and Theresa Witi, and represent the interests and concerns of WLI PNG Alumni. … Let's take this opportunity to set the benchmark. You all are trailblazers.”

Fijian Representative Jiupili adds, “I am honored to join arms with my Fiji representatives [and] looking forward to working with you amazing leaders.”

WLI alumnae can contact their newly appointed representatives by direct message through the WLI Leaders Hub.
